I have never encountered this before so I dont know if its a flaw or a wacky thing they need to update the software for.
I have a tivo series 2 (old style 2400) that I put in a 500 gig hard drive to up it to 636 hours. It has worked fine and updated to the latest firmware which is around 9. something. It is also hooked up by IR cables to my direct tv hd box. Meaning it has the direct tv signal going through it and the IR cables change the Direct tv box channel when it records.
Well I have left suggestions on and it does record most as normal. But twice now I have turned on my tv and noticed that the direct box is not on a channel I get. It seems that sometimes the tivo is suggesting and recording channels I do not get.
I just get it turned to a black screen with a "Channel not purchased" and then the direct tv logo bouncing around for an hour. Is there a way to tell the tivo to only get direct tv channels I get for suggestions?
