  • HD channel names too long to display (upcoming episodes display)

I have a TiVo Series 3 and a TiVo HD and Comcast cable. It seems that many of the channels in the channel lineup are being renamed from names that were only 3 to 4 characters long to names that may be up to six (or seven?) characters long. Unfortunately, those longer channel names (e.g., HBOPHD2, or something like that) do not display in the "upcoming episodes" display. Instead, they display the first 4 or so characters followed by an ellipsis (...). If I would like to choose to record a showing from a high definition channel, I cannot be sure I've done so except to go back and make sure the channel number displayed is a high definition channel. Is there a way to change this? If not, couldn't TiVo at least push out a software update that would remove some of the unnecessary "white space" in order to display the full call letters of each channel?

    Thanks!

There is no way to change this, to my knowledge.

Thank you for the prompt response. Has this been improved with the new 720p display found in the TiVo Premiere series?

Due to the HD menus, I'm pretty sure this is all fine with the Premiere units.
        Been here a long time . . .
