  • Series 3 Constant Reboots and Lock-Ups BUT......

    I have talked to Tivo, had Cox Cable people at the house etc...

    Issue: Constant reboots and lockups. I was starting to believe it was the hard drive but I removed the Cox input cable and everything works fine except for live TV of course.

    With Cox tech at the house this morning he found nothing wrong with the cable signal. Tivo said it could only be due to a weak signal.

    I am at a loss. He tested cable cards and everything was fine.

    Any ideas?

    Sure - that makes sense. Without the incoming cable line connected, the TiVo can't buffer live TV. That's much, much less of a strain on the hard drive, so it works fine without the need to buffer.

    I'm pretty sure you have a bad hard drive. You can find a replacement here - just choose your exact model number:
