I dont even know where to start. Series 2 revival woes.

I have a dying HD on my hughes directv 40gig unit. Before the final death I decided to swap, upgrade the hd. I followed all instructions and when I boot to the disk is when the trouble starts. I get all sorts of strange warnings ending with failing to mount the cd-rom, try 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. No cdrom found. There is obviously a cdrom if I booted from the cd!!!

The final prompt I get is: "sh-2.05b#" and none of the commands are recognized.

Where do I go from here?

If you don't have a working drive, how are you going to get the software onto your new drive?

Anyway, your CD problem sounds related to your PC, not anything TiVo-related.

The hd is not dead yet but dying. After it warms up it starts cutting out. I'm hoping that it will last long enough for the transfer.
