Hi all,
Our old Tivo series 2 (single tuner) died this weekend. Sad, but it's been used pretty heavily for the last 5 years or so. A new, replacement Tivo Series 2 is only $50 at Best Buy, so there doesn't appear to be any point in having the old one repaired.
But I would like to get all my saved TV shows off the old unit, if possible. Assuming it's not the harddrive that died, how can I get my saved shows off the old Tivo
The old Tivo was a series 2, single tuner, model TCD230040, with a 2nd Weaknees expansion drive & fan.
the $50 best buy replacement is a series 2, dual tuner, model TCD649080.
We also have a series 3, if that helps.
My original thought was I'd just mount the old harddrives into my PC, copy them into my "My Tivo" folder, and then either watch them there are transfer them via network. But while my PC recognizes the drives, it doesn't recognize the filesystem on the drive.
