    TiVo is not responding to the remote.

    I noticed the other day my TiVo HD would not chnage chanels or go to the guide. Basicly not responding to the remote at all, no amber light flashing.

    I reset the TiVo, pulled plug, and it was fine for a week. Last night same trouble, this time reseting it did nothing. I called TiVo support and the want me to pay 150 for an exchange unit. I will then loose everything I have setup.

    Any ideas?

    I was actually thinking about getting a new drive for this one soon too, you guys have great deals and upgrades.

    What model TiVo do you have? I assume you have changed batteries in the remote? Do you get any difference if you are 1" from the front of the TIVO?

      I have tried the batteries. The remote works on my other TiVos.

        Late last night the TiVo started working again. Guess I'll have to see how long it goes this time.
