Series 2 DT stuck on remove external storage?

One of my Series 2 TiVos is stuck on the remove external storage screen. How is this even possible? The Series 2 TiVos don't support external storage. I'd kind of like to know how I go about getting past this since when I try to use the steps to "remove" it, I just get brought back to the same screen.

You likely have a two-drive TiVo, and the second drive has some problem. You can try disconnecting that second drive and then telling the TiVo to remove it.
