Display brightness problem

Hey!
I just got my Series 3 Tivo up and running, and have found a weird glitch. When I go into the Tivo, and under settings>Display set the brightness level to the highest brightness, it goes bright, then defaults back to dim after a few seconds. It does this if I select it and go out of the menu, or just sit there and park on the settings.

Why, oh, why is it doing this?!?!

TiVo, in their infinite wisdom, doesn't want those pretty lights to burn out. So after a few seconds, they dim down. When you use the remote again, they should brighten back up (only to dim down again soon).

We've heard a lot of complaints on this issue, so it's possible that TiVo will change the behavior of the light in a software update.
