scratchy audio on Hughs sd-40

I am using the red wht yellow outputs because of the tivo and TV. Scratchy audio if both red and wht plugged in. if I remove oneor the other sound clears up. Tried the other outputs (red/wht/yellow) on tivo and other TV (inputs) and no change. Other Tivo unit plays fine thru TV. Is the audio reparable?

You might try a different set of cables.
