I did a search but couldn't really find anything relevant, so here's the information I can provide:
About 3 months ago I cloned my HDVR2's original drive (40GB) onto a spare 120GB I had. It's been working well for this entire time with 106 hrs of recording time! Until this morning, that is. I heard the hard drive power down while watching a pre-recorded show. It played for about 2-3 more seconds (guess it was in the buffer) and then it froze with a black screen. I unplugged the unit, waited 5 seconds and plugged it back in. It will not get past the initial powering up screen. It will reboot it seems every minute or so. I thought maybe the hard drive is dying, so I plugged the known good original unit back in - it does the same thing.
I am thinking maybe a power supply issue, or something else catastrophic with the motherboard? I have a GXCEBOT too, so I can always use that as a spare if this is dead, but I'll hate to have to lose the ton of stuff I had on the old drive since I'll need to reimage the Series 1 OS vs the Series 2. I had thought about swapping the power supplies but they're drastically different. I have a spare HR10-250 at my parent's that I could strip apart if I really needed, and I think I have an R10 somewhere too, but I'd like to really be able to watch my old shows so I'm holding out hope! Did a search and didn't find anything really exactly like what I have here.
