I have an old series 1 TiVo box (Phillips PTV300) just lying in my spare room, is it possible to utilize this hard drive in conjunction with my new dual tuner TiVo TDC649080? I tried searching but it was hard to sift through all of the info to find an answer to this specific question. I realize there are other ways to upgrade storage but I'm bored and don't want to waste a perfectly good hard drive. Thanks for any help. Chuck

You could, with a bracket and some formatting, but given the likely small size of the Series1 drive, and the age and therefore likelihood of failure, we don't recommend it.Been here a long time . . . -
Thanks, kinda what I figured. I also have lying around a 40Gig IBM hard drive that simply needs somewhere to go...any possibilities there? Can you tell I'm bored and just lookin' for monsters to create!Comment

Again, probably too small and old to be a wise choice for a TiVo. Further, IBM hard drives are notorious for causing problems in DVRs.Been here a long time . . .Comment
