My Humax DVR Series 2 began an endless cycle of restarting spontaneously. I ran all the reboots and tests; nothing helped. I looked at the Weaknees site, which said the problem was almost certainly a dying hard disk. I bought a replacement from Weaknees and installed it.
The new drive seems to work fine. It contacted Tivo, brought down all the info; setup looked fine. However, now, less than a day later, the recycling has begun again.
If the problem isn't the drive, what is it? The drive was $169.
