  • Toshiba SD400 Series2 Black Screen

    Hi -

    I just switched over to Comcast from Dish Network. Tivo was working fine a couple days ago.

    I am now getting a black screen when I hook everything up. I have tested the cable box to the TV and that worked fine. When DVR is connected I get the Tivo menus, but no live tv signal. All coaxial connections are correctly connected.

    It seems that the issue is from the cable box to the DVR. I have tried guided setup several times with no success.

    When checking their software, Tivo support mentioned that the cable box selection isn't being recognized on their end.

    Is this a hardware issue? Like I said, the Tivo worked fine 2 days ago!

    I have a lifetime subscription and don't want to toss this unit!

    Sounds like a hardware problem - unfortunately, that's pretty expensive to fix on that model.

    You've tried S-video and composite video?
    Been here a long time . . .

      I will try the s-video. I have tried the RCA cables as well. What is the composite video? Thanks! Ray

        Composite is yellow (red/white/yellow are composite cables).
