Dead Series 2: Fan and HDD spin up

Hello,

I have a Series 2 model TCD24004A that recently stopped working. Upon bootup, the unit displays a black screen with a few white bars rolling top to bottom. No LEDs are lit, though the fan and HDD both spin up. I have tried disconnecting the IDE cable, and upon restart the HDD still spins up.

I am curious if a new power supply might fix my TiVo, or if these symptoms sound more like a motherboard failure?
