Hi,
Awoke this morning to find my Series 2 TiVo with the grey "Welcome. Powering Up" screen on. After a few seconds the screen would go black with white blocks flickering on it for less than a second and then the grey power up screen would come back. Front panel light would also flicker off and on as it cycled through the black screen back to the grey.
I unplugged and left it alone for about 20-30 minutes and when plugged back in, the fan turned on, but that was it. No front panel lights or any other noticeable sounds of life. I have done that twice with the same results.
Was about to upgrade to a Series 3, and would really like to salvage the programs off the series 2, so really wondering if it is a power supply, which would still make that possible or a HD failure, which really wouldn't.
Also wondering if it is a power supply failure if there is anyway to transfer shows off the old HD without repairing the unit.
Thanks so much for your advice and help.
