My Series 3 hard drive went belly-up the other week... or at least I thought it did. The symptoms were inability to record HD content, and frequent freezes coupled with occasional reboots.
I had previously (successfully) replaced another Series 3's drive with a Weaknees pre-formatted drive, so I went that route with this other TiVo as well.
The new drive arrived today, but after installation it just cycles between "Powering Up" and "Almost there...", rebooting every few minutes.
Was my issue not a bad drive after all, but a bad board?
