How do I install new hard drive?

I have two Tivo series 2's and 6 various hard drives. I've been trying to add a 2nd hard drive yet running into trouble. I have Mfstools.
I would like to start from scratch and install just one hard drive. I do not have a working tivo hard drive or a backup copy (mfstools talks about backup).
Any Hard drive I try results in All grey screen after 20 seconds.
Also tried my other Series 2 with same results.

Help!!

Sounds like you either need a full kit from us, or you can send one of your drives for us to format:
