DTV Installer Says Dead Box

Hi there. I just had a DirecTV installer here to put in a new multiswitch and bring in a second line in order to use the DSR-704. The DSR-704 was unable to detect the second satellite signal but a DirecTV DVR was. Because of this, he said the problem was with the box and not the satellite service. So...what should I do?
