    Phillips PTV 100 Missing Parental Ctrl Password

    I have inherited a PTV100 system. It has a Parental Block to PG13 and I would like to remove it but don't have the password. I asked my daughter for it but she said they never put a password on it. Is there anyway to get around this?

    I assume that this system is a series 1?

    Doesn't seem to have a much storage space, but it does have a lifetime subscription.

    Any thoughts or suggestions on what I should do will be greatly appreciated.

    Unfortunately, the only way to get rid of it is to have the drive reprogrammed or to purchase a replacement drive kit.

      Thanks for the response. Unfortunately to reprogram when a parental password is set you need to know it in order to do the reprogram. Fortunately I made a lucky guess and entered 1111 and it worked. It is now going through the reset.

      My next issue is that the system will not hold a phone connection long enough to complete a download. I am now trying a shorter phone line that goes directly from the outlet to the Tivo. Hopefully this will work.

        Modem problems are pretty common in those units....if you continue to have problems, you might consider this:
