I need to order a new hard-drive for my Sony SVR2000 - I use it as a basic VCR replacement that never dials in after it is set up. However, I no longer have a landline phone. I ONLY have MagicJack, which I understand will not dial in for the TIVO. I travel quite a bit and I could take it to a hotel and perform the set-up. Has anyone had success doing this at a hotel, like a Holiday Inn Express? I have hesitated because I am unsure if a hotel phone system would allow something like the TIVO set-up to happen.
