  • Live TV Recording To DVD

I recently purchased a Tivo Series 2 DVR. I have the Tivo box hooked up to my Cable via Coax, and have it connected to a Sansui VRDVD4005 VCR/DVD machine via coax, as well as the video output cables. The Tivo box records fine. I am also able to record live TV, or save a recorded show to a VHS tape on the Sansui macine, but I can not record either live TV, or a saved program to a DVD.

I called Tivo support twice. I got 2 different answers. The first respone i received was that I should be able to record to DVD anything where the broadcaster has not added copy protection to their signal. The second response I received was that I could record to VHS tape, but would not be able to record to DVD, because the signal from the Tivo DVR is copyprotected.

I also tried creating a VHS tape, and copying it to DVD, but got the same message, that the output from the VHS tape was copyprotected.

    Any ideas?

I just bought the Sima CT-200 at Best Buy. Took care of the same problem. Works great on movies, shows, dvd to dvd, whatever.

    Google it.
