    Problem pausing program while recording

    When we watch a program from the "Now Playing" list that is currently being recorded and then pause it to watch something else and then come back to it, instead of it holding at the pause point and resuming, it reverts back to the beginning of the recorded show.

    This use to work but changed sometime earlier this year. There has been no equipment changes in this timeframe.

    Hmm. We haven't seen that. What model TiVo is it?

      It is the Hughes DVR that we got when we originally signed up for DirecTV. I have updated the hard-drive with one of your 500meg unit.

        Have you tried pulling the plug and restarting?

        Also, rather than pressing pause you should try pressing the TiVo button or live TV button to exit out of the show you have recorded.

          After reading your thread, I did unplug and restart the unit. Now I have done some more testing and found that it only fails when the recorded show catches up to live TV and then I go to actual live TV. The same thing happens even if I pause the recording once it has gotten caught up, then press play, then go to live TV prior to the recording catching up to live TV again. If nothing else, at least we have a good idea why it is happening and how we will handle it in the future.
          If I discover anything else about this, I'll post it to this thread.
