I have a Sony SVR2000 whose modem went bad, bought the external modem kit and having problems similar to some of those described by others. Unit dials you can hear the various tones etc etc only to end up failing. I read somewhere that you may want to try other numbers that may be available. Unfortunately the option to get new numbers also fails, and there does not seem to be a way to force the SVR2000 to dial a number without going through the menus. Any help would be appreciated.
