My Samsung SIR-T120 died a few months back and I stupidly tossed it out versus trying to service it at Weaknees. And I fell into the R15 trap; and am having considerable issues (i.e. having to reset on a daily basis) and have been through 4 units in as many months. Question....
1. Purchase new/refurbished DTV/Tivo unit(s) and trust that DTV will actually "support" the product for the next couple years (as claimed) and pay my $5.99/mo; OR
2. Buy new standalone Tivo units and hook them up to the basic DSS box; and get some of the newer features (i.e., broadband) that I was getting on my ReplayTV box 5 years ago! And pay the higher service fee, of course.
In scenario #2, I could have a dual-tuner Tivo BUT be limited to a single since there is only a single feed from the basic DSS box?
If both solutions cost $1, which is the best?
Thanks,
Terry
