  • Activated Fios CableCards don't work in Series3

Fios says my CableCards are activated and SHOULD be showing channels, but they do not. Fios can see the cards active. They have removed and re-added them multiple times and sent countless reauthorization signals to the cards. The cards seem to BE active - I just don't see content.

We took the cards out and put them into my other Series3, and the cards work. The TiVo diagnostic screens seem to show that they SHOULD be functioning but something is keeping there from being a picture on my screen.

At the same time, I bought a new Western Digital My DVR Expander 1TB eSATA External Hard Drive and tried to add it. TiVo acknowledges that there is an eSATA drive plugged in and repeatedly asks me to add it, but each time I follow the instructions and reboot nothing happens. Each time I try to add the eSATA drive the machine reboots, and when I hit the TiVo button it asks me once again if I'd like to try to add the eSATA drive.

I fear that there's something deeper wrong with my Series3. Can you think of what could be going on that would keep functioning CableCards from showing channels and a functioning eSATA drive (I tested it on my iMac - it works!) from being added?

If FiOS has activated the same cards on your other Series3 and they work, but can't activate identical cards with the one that isn't working, then it sure sounds like an issue with your Series3. I don't think a power supply would solve this problem; you should consider talking to TiVo for a replacement.
