Will my archive be lost?

I think my unit has bitten the dust after four years. I'm being pixillated and frozen to death--both live and playback. The hard drive was replaced last year, so I'm pretty sure that isn't the problem.

Anyway, I'm up for getting a new setup, but I would love to rescue the contents of the old hard drive. Is this possible? If not to a new Tivo, to a computer?

This is kind of an emergency.

There's really no way to move the data over to a new unit . . .the shows are serialized to the unit on which they were originally recorded, and they won't play back on a different unit, even of the same model number.

Been here a long time . . .
