    Channel list not updating

    I own a DirecTV Philips DSR 7000 and just recently upgraded the hard drive due to the original having failed. All seems well with the exception of the channel list. When I update the channels received listing and remove the channels I don't want to be displayed, they still appear on the list even though they shouldn't. I have tried restarting the unit and have had no success. I really don't want to scroll through so pany pages of unnecessary channels like home shopping and gamelounge etc etc. Someone please point me in the right direction to keep the unwanted chanels off the list.

    I know this is an old thread but I have the exact same problem. Did you ever get any help or find a way to resolve your problem?

        I replaced the bad power supply and the original 60GB hard drive was clunking, so I bought an 80GB western digital and "instant cake". I followed thr rules, but the drive would not boot,(stuck on powering up). So I did it again, and again for 3 times with no results.
        I then downloaded MFS product. I backed up the clunker drive and restored it to the new 80GB one. Now it starts up and goes to the "Almost there just a few minutes more" screen and stays there`

        Does this mean that my backed-up/restored image is bad?

        If Instant cake won't work, and MFS won't work, What next? or is the Mother board blown?

        I have over 40 Years experience on PC's, 32 of them with IBM, and the last 16 as a consultant and volunteer, I found that the instant cake was formatting the HD as NTFS file system, so each time I fdisked the drive and left it blank for the instant cake. Does Instant Cake make the file system on the drive ntfs?
        This has me confused as my experience was not much in the linux/RS6000 operating system.
