I have had a TiVo Series 3 HD for a couple years and it has been working fine until recently. As of about a week ago, when we watch an HD channel, problems happen. It started off where the picture froze without sound. This then started to happen more frequently and then the TiVo box started to reboot itself automatically.

I called customer support at TiVo and they thought it was the cablecards but I am not sure if that is the case. I went through a series of procedures and if I stay away from HD channels, everything works fine -- picture never freezes, I can record/replay shows, etc. The problems only happen when we try to watch an HD channel.

Thoughts?
