Access Cards for DirecTV

I'm upgrading a hard drive on my old HDVR2 that I haven't used in a while.Can I use the same access card that I have in my current RCA or do I need the original card that came with the Hughes HDVR2? In other words are the access cards interchangeable, and do I need to contact DirecTV once I have the new drive installed. Thank you in advance for your feedback.

The access cards are matched to the unit from the first time they are used. You will need to use the one that came with the unit and call direct TV to activate it as an extra receiver.
