  • Failed to Copy/Invalid or Unsupported Disc

I have a Pioneer Series 2Upgraded 810h-s DVR. I have used DVR-R 4x discs for 4 years with no problem. Am using the same discs yet now it says Invalid or Unsupported Disc and even Internal Error. I have powered down 4 times, waited 30 minutes and same thing. Please help. I have used many brands of DVD-R 4x but is there a preferred one for use with Pioneer? Thank you

First, sometimes even the same discs from the same manufacturer can change over time. The manufacturer has them produced at a different factory, or the same factory changes their equipment. We've certainly seen that before, so we'd recommend trying a different box of DVDs. We currently like the LG discs.

But you could also have burner failure. We have replacement DVD burners for Pioneer TiVos. They aren't cheap, unfortunately, but they do keep these units running.

      More info

Thanks for the reply...just spent 2 hours doing a kickstart test on the hard drive per Max. Have just paid for a rebuilt burner from Weaknees to put in for me since the warranty was better than a new one. I bought $400 of 4x disc's 2 years ago since I was told they may not be made any more & that is what I have always used without a problem. You & Max both said that I need a burner so that is what I am getting. Appreciate the reply.

        Thanks you.
