I have a DirecTivo Samsung SIR-S4080R and it has frozen up twice. Looks like a bad hard drive. I had to pull the power cable to get it to respond to me. After it rebooted it managed to continue running and taped a 2 hour show, but later froze up again. I've got it unplugged now. Assuming it's got several hours of life left in it,
(1) Is it possible to buy a new hard drive from weaKness and transfer my shows to the new drive? I work in IT and would like to do this without having to ship it to have it done (if it's posssible). NOTE: This unit has only one drive in it--it's the original one. Is cloning the drive or copying the recorded content to my PC an option?
(2) If it's possible, what kit or things do I need to buy. I'll glady pay to get the drive that's ready to go with TIVO software. Please be specific and then I'll order these items.
(3) Can you provide a link to the instructions I'll need?
