how to stop playing a show?

I am just dying to know how to do the most simple thing. I am done watching the show, although time still remains in the recording. So all I want to do is stop the show so I can delete it, or whatever.

Is there any way to do this without pressing about 4 buttons and taking 45 seconds?

Assuming you have a TiVo, then press left on the directional (circle) pad, then clear on your remote.
