Series 2 Stuck on "Almost there" screen

My Tivo has been freezing for the last couple of months. I have replaced the power supply and the hard drive and nothing. I can get it to at least get to the "almost there" screen and once actually thought it was going to go on but froze at the point of the Tivo logo sliding around.

I have had the unit & mother board looked at by a Pro, and he tells me the issue is not a hardware problem, but rather a firmware problem. Is there anyway to clear the "tivo system" without losing life time subscription and restart from zero? Any ideas?

IF you know the drive and power supply are good, then the only conclusion left is a bad motherboard. There is no such thing as a "firmware problem." I also don't really know what you mean by "clear the TiVo system".

Basically, it sounds like you need your motherboard repaired. What model TiVo do you have?
