Humax 400 channel changing problem

I have a humax 400 and a cheap Directv box for the tuner using IR. When it tries to change channels it blinks like it is, and even changes the channle title but stays on the same channel or changes to some other channel and merrily records it. If I try to change channels manually sometimes it take 2 tries to actually go to the correct channel. Any ideas?

You might try going through guided setup again and choosing a different/slower IR code. Or possibly, check the location of the cable at the cable box and/or try a new TiVo IR blaster cable.
