  • Series 2 Stuck on Powering Up Screen

My TCD140060 just had its power supply replaced again (3rd), and now it won't go beyond the "Powering UP" screen. All 4 lights are ON on the front.
The wireless adapater is not lighting up.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

The wireless adapter won't light unless/until the unit actually boots. Are you sure your drive is good?

I'm not sure of anything now concerning my unit. If it gets past changing out the power supply, I'm lost. Any help would be appreciated.

If you want to test your drive, see:

Ok, I ended up at the Western Digital website, but now what? How do I take the hard drive out of the tivo? How do I connect it to my computer. Do I have to purchase a cable that will go from the hard drive to my computer?

The hard drive in the tivo is a model WD600AW-00DDK1. Which software do I use to diagnose it?

If you look on our site, you can find instructions for opening your unit, but we don't have step by step info on exactly what you're looking for. Sorry.

Ok, I bought a hard drive from you, I installed it per instructions and it started as expected. Now, one week after my unit is freezing up daily. I'm able to unplug it and wait a few minutes and get it to start back up. Doing this daily is not acceptable.

Any ideas? I have also replaced the power supply within the last month.

Hopefully it's just a cable. Try disconnecting the internal cables and reconnecting all of them.

If that doesn't do it, you likely have a motherboard problem. Do you have lifetime service on the unit?
