    Series 3 Flshing Blue Light

    I have a Series 3 Tivo that will not power on. On the display a blue light flashes rapidly and the unit emits a low level chirp.

    Any thoughts?

    What do you see on the TV screen? There aren't many components inside that box that can chirp. We have sometimes heard chirping from a bad hard drive, but is the noise coming from the speakers or the unit itself?

      No output to the TV. As soon as you power up the Tivo, the blue light on the Tivo display starts flashing with a very low level chirp. The fan doesn't even start up. I don't know if it's a power supply or cable issue. But it doesn't even try to access the hard disk.

        It sounds like you might have a bad power supply. See:

          Per your advice, I ordered a S3 Power Supply from WK, installed it tonight and all is good.
