Just added a TiVo HD XL to our inventory of TiVo's in the house. On the Series 2 DT TiVo (and previous versions) when the TV was muted the closed captioning automatically turned on (a feature we like). On the TiVo HD XL that does not appear to be an option. Now it takes three process steps. MUTE, INFO and then turn on CC in the channel banner. Is there any shortcut to have CC automatically set to ON when Mute is selected for the HD XL?

Are you sure it wasn't the TV that was doing that? The TiVo really has no way to know that you muted the volume . . .Been here a long time . . . -
i went to the tv first as it is new also (Samsung 50" plasma HD)..... but the captioning option there is grayed out so I can't adjust the settings.. however it was available until I had the cable cards installed in the tivo HD XL this morning. if tivo doesn't know it has been muted..... this must be a cox cable thing.... but how does cox cable know it has been muted?.... ok - i'll head to the tv manual. thanks!Comment
