  • US Tivo and Bell Express Vu Satellite

I have a series 2 United States Tivo with a lifetime subscription. I am located in the United States. I want to hook it up to my Canadian Bell Express View satellite system and have the Canadian Program guide. Do I have to download new Tivo software so Tivo can download the program guide for the Bell Express vu satellite? I know I can use it to blindly record at set times but I would like to have the Canadian program guide to set up recordings. Help

Hard to know - I haven't seen that done before. But if it works with that unit in Canada, there's no reason it shouldn't work here. You'll just need to tell the unit that you're in the right Postal Code to get the right guide data options.
    Been here a long time . . .

I don't know if this will help, but I've had both my TiVos shipped to the US. First one was only used after taking to Canada, the second was shipped to FL about the time we got there on vacation, so we hooked it up (officially to test it). When we left, we brought it with us and hooked it up to cable in Canada. It's working fine here, correct program guide and all that. It also kept the stuff we'd recorded while in FL. We did go through guided setup or something (asked for our postal code, then which provider we were on, etc.).
