Been a Tivo series 1 user for many many years and replaced the internal modem when it fizzled with an external from Weaknees. It worked great as long as I had Verizon phone service (POTS) but when I switched to Comcast Digital Voice phone service last week, Tivo stopped being able to dial in. I get the "failed. Could not connect" message. I listened in on a call and my modem and Tivo are beeping and booping at each other for a while before they give up and hang up. I have the following dial prefix : ,,#319.
I contacted Comcast and they said their phone service is compatible with Tivo. I called Tivo and they said it's not.
How do I get Tivo talking successfully over this digital phone line? (Note: This is not VOIP like Vonage. It's digital phone service over the coAX cable, but does not go through the internet. )
