Last year I purchased an upgrade hard drive from weaknees for my Sony branded SVR3000 Tivo. I have recently transfered the lifetime status from this sony tivo to an new HD tivo, so the sony tivo is not being used. I also have a lifetime Tivo Series 2 TCD540040; is it possible to move my upgraded weaknees hard drive from my sony tivo to the Tivo brand Series 2?? Do I need to reformat it?? Besides the upgraded capacity, the tivo brand tivo's hard drive whines really loud and I would rather not have to listen to it anymore.

I cant find anywhere what hard drives are compatible with each model of tivo.
