I am a longtime DIRECTV user . We moved to a home which is wired for Bright House cable that does receive HD, but there is only one cable going to each Bright House HD receiver. I had two cables for my DIRECTV HD receivers (which I brought with me to our new home). Will I have to rewire the house with a second cable to each DIRECTV receiver to get HiDef?

No, you won't. You will just need to use a single-wire multiswitch or SWM dish. See:
