Hello! The TIVO unit works fine but only has faint sound. I have tried all of the RCA out jacks & they are all the same. Is it possible that it may be a failed audio chip? If this is the case - is this easy to fix on my own or should the unit be sent to a shop? Please help!

I'm not sure that's even worth fixing on a unit that old. Do you have lifetime service on the unit?

The unit does have lifetime & I have tried RF out hoping that it might be something related to the RCA jacks, but unfortunately that wasn't the case.Comment

It's something we can likely fix, but my guess is that it wouldn't be very inexpensive.
You should probably call TiVo first to see if they can do anything for you in moving the lifetime to a newer unit. In some cases, if your original unit is old enough, it may be eligible for a free one-time lifetime transfer.Been here a long time . . .Comment
