Series 1 tuner question

A firend offered me his series 1 DVR and I am thinking of upgrading it to higher capacity. But, not knowing the first thing about it, I am not sure that it has a tuner that can receive HD tv broadcasts, next to satellite.
Can anybody help me with this?

Nope - it can't do HD at all, but it can control a satellite receiver.

Been here a long time . . .
