I've read a lot of the threads here and elsewhere on the web regarding my remote problem - but none seem to fit.

My remote stops working for no apparent reason - or I should say it stops working the Tivo device, it still works the on/off switch and volume on my TV - but then starts working again for no reason after time passes.

I have removed all other devices in the room - so no IR interference.
I have not upgraded.
I have two Tivo remotes - ones from an older box, but reset for global use. They both stop working at the same time - so I'm guessing it is the box.

The thing is is that they start working again and continue with no problem for a while and then stop working again. The intermittent problem seems to related to use. At night after we have been watching for a while is when we see the problem start. In the morning it is always OK.

Any thoughts? Can the IR board stop working from use?
