Just installed the new unit I ordered and do I have problems.
1. The unit only stays on for about two hours before it says it has to shut down because it is overheated. It's in the same place in the cabinet as the old unit.
2. I now am getting audio noise; pops, chirps, hisses, etc. I am using the optical output, but this was never a problem on the unit I replaced.
3. THE KICKER -- I bought a new unit based on what I read here on these forums. I had audio drops and pixelation that seemed to indicate I had a bad tuner. I have had the unit for 6 years (maybe more), so I figured I'll get a new one here to keep TiVO instead of the cruddy software DirecTV is now using.
I'm still having pixelation coupled with audio drops!!!!!
VERY DISAPPOINTING. Perhaps my wife is right...bag it all, call Verizon and get FIOS.
