Universal Remote - TV Input button

Hi, I bought the new Directv DVR universal remote. The TV Input doesn't work for me because on my TV (Samsung), once you hit input, you have to scroll through the menu of connection choices and highlight the correct one and select it. None of this works with my universal remote (one the TV input button is pushed, none of the arrow keys work, for example). I also tried using the TV mode and the menu but the same issue persists. Any ideas?

Most TVs like that also have a "toggle" button mode that allows for universals to work.

Does pressing the button bring up the menu?
