Moving recorded shows from upgraded directv unit to att uverse.

I'm thinking of switching to Att Uverse from my Directv. I added a 300GB second drive and am wondering if there is a way to move all the recorded shows to the second drive and remove it and either install it in the new dvr or put it in an enclosure and use the usb port to access it. Any ideas?

Nope - those recordings are fully encrypted and can't be moved.

But you can just keep using the unit with no satellite cables attached. Nothing should really change as long as you don't let the unit dial in after you cancel DirecTV.
