    TiVo Desktop won't load

    TiVo Desktop 1.9.3 will not load on my Macintosh. It does show up in Preferences. When I click on it I get a message saying it is loading, but it never does load.

    For what it is worth, I am using a wireless network adapter. It is connecting to the network. But without Tivo Desktop, I can't get to iTunes and iPhotos. Help!

    Have you tried that golden first step with computers: rebooting?

      Yes. I also uninstalled the software, ran Disk Warrior and Disk Uility, repaired the permissions and reinstlled the software.

            I don't really know what to try next, but as a data point, I'm using 10.4.8 on a MacBook Pro and I can use TiVo Desktop just fine . . .

              I even reloaded the system software. It still doesn't work.

                I finally figured out how to get Desktop to load. The answer is quite simple. Open the Sharing preference and type in the name of the compter. Voila! Desktop will load. It is so simple and basic, I am embarrassed I did not do this in the first place.
