I recently bought a replacement drive from weaKness ( I thought I did). According to info@ I bought an add drive. If my first drive is dead, will the new drive still work if I install as an "add"? I use to get message "almost done" now I get "powering up". I have a series 2. Thanks

Sorry - but I don't really understand. Did you buy an add kit, or a replace kit?
Either way, the drive will only work for the position intended. It would have been formatted here for only that use.Been here a long time . . . -
Add Drive
I thought I was buying a replacement but I bought an "add" drive. My original drive in TCD24008A Tivo I thought was dead because it was stuck on "almost done" screen. If I install my new drive as an "add" will it work if the original drive is dead or near dead?Comment
