I am moving. Do I need an active land line to get tivo feed or will it work as long as I have it plugged into a phone jack? Also, will the programs I have saved on tivo automatically delete when I unhook it for moving?
You will not lose programs when you disconnect it.
A phone jack will do nothing for you unless you have phone service attached to it. Depending on your model TiVo, you might also be able to network it rather than use a phone line.
